Rhoscolyn Trip Notes

Rhoscolyn Trip Notes

This sandy crescent hidden on the most Southernly point of Holyhead, is the beautiful beach of Roscolyn “Borth Wen Beach”. You will find your starting point, winding through the country roads of Anglesey, leading to the carpark right on the boarders of the beach.

As you venture into the waters of the Irish Sea, you will encounter tiny rocky outcrops peaking up from the golden sands. Whist you enjoy the view of the different coloured seaweeds, you will continue to swim outwards towards the mouth of the bay.

Reaching the mouth of this sheltered crescent, you will be guided around the large rocky island, home to a variety of different seabirds. This swim will give you a viewpoint from a total different perspective, letting you glance upon these magnificent creatures in their natural settings, an image to remember for ever.

You will then be guided through the weaving passageways of the larger rocky outcrops, swimming with the assisted tide as you glide into the neighbouring inlet. Here you will swim through the inlet of towering cliffs sides, towards to the open sandy cove. From here we head back over the natural ridge into the bay we started in, swimming back towards the beach for warm refreshments and cake. The perfect finish to your swim.

Included in the price.

Swimming awareness

Your safety is of the utmost importance to Aqua Adventure Swims. In the event of adverse weather conditions at any of our swimming locations, we many need to adapt our itinerary on the day.

Swimming in the open sea amongst natural wildlife is a unique experience, but you may come across certain marine wildlife such as jellyfish, weever fish and coral from time to time. Wetsuits, gloves and neoprene boots will prevent your body from being stung by jellyfish and the safety crew will be keeping a watchfully eye out, to alert you and guide you in a different direction. If you are stung by a jellyfish and are un-able to carry on swimming, you will never be far from an escort boat, where one of the team will be able to treat the affected area immediately.

If you suffer from Anaphylaxis or any other allergic reactions it is important to inform us at the time of the booking.
